Are you suffering from any of the following:
- pain on the outside of your upper forearm, just below the bend of your elbow
- pain when lifting or bending your arm
- pain when gripping small objects, such as a pencil
- pain when twisting your forearm, such as turning a door handle or opening a jar
or you may be experiencing difficulty in extending your forearm.
If so, then you may well be suffering from Lateral Epicondylitis, more commonly known as Tennis Elbow.
Now before you say “But I don’t play tennis!”, you don’t have to play tennis to to find your self suffering from it!. It’s named after the overuse of the muscles used when playing tennis. However, the condition can be caused by many activities that put repeated and excessive stress on the elbow joint and surrounding muscles.
Tennis elbow can often clear up with no treatment, however, if you are suffering from it, our chiropractors advise that you seek medical treatment.
As chiropractors we are well known for treating back and neck pain, however, we are trained to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, and muscles), as well as the effects these disorders can have on the nervous system and general health. This includes treating elbow pain or tennis elbow from back and neck problems.
If you are in pain and suffering from tennis elbow why not make an appointment with our chiropractor at Witney Chiropractic Clinic on 01993 776619.
