January is here and it’s back to the grind! But if you’re looking for a reason to take more breaks at work (and who isn’t during January?) the following statistics are all you need. Recent research has revealed that a mere 17% of British workers take a full hour for their lunch breaks and the staggering 83% who don’t could be facing health and productivity impacts.*
If you’re among this worryingly high number of workers who like to desk-hog, our team at Witney Chiropractic Clinic has some top advice:
Get off your bus or train one or two stops earlier and walk the rest of the journey to work, if possible.
Take a break from your desk or workstation every 30-40 minutes. Stand up, change position and walk around a little.
Take full advantage of any opportunity to exercise during your working day. This may mean using the stairs instead of the lift or going for a walk on your lunch break.
There’s no better time to start implementing these daily healthy habits into your routine!
