The month of May sees National Walking Month. A 31 day campaign that raises awareness of the health benefits of walking.
It is a great way to look after your body and mind; it is available to anyone with any fitness levels or budget. Walking is really good for you. As a busy chiropractor in Witney we’re also big fans of walking because it is great for your back.
Good for your back
How is walking good for your back? Walking strengthens muscles around the legs, hips, torso and importantly your back muscles. By walking more often and (hopefully) stretching you are able to improve the flexibility, range of motion and posture of your back, improving the overall health and condition.
Walking is great for the health of your back but it is important you look after yourself when walking. Don’t overdo it, don’t carry any heavy weight and always remember to keep a good posture.
