5 things you’re doing that’s giving you back pain

Back pain is a problem. A lot of us suffer from it and it can make your life a misery. As a busy Chiropractor in Witney it is our duty to help you avoid back pain where possible. So here are 5 things you’re doing that is causing you back pain.

  1. Poor lifting – One of the biggest direct causes of back pain is poor lifting technique. If you’re moving around heavy objects and your twist your body or avoid lifting with the legs you can cause yourself quite a bit of pain.
  1. Poor posture – Probably the biggest cause of back pain. Poor posture can be anything from sitting incorrectly, sleeping strangely or standing up in correctly. If you’re slouching, twisting, over stretching over just carrying out general poor posture you can cause long lasting damage to your back.
  1. Over doing it – Don’t over exert yourself. Your body needs rest to recover. So if you’ve spent you’re afternoon out in the garden, bending over and lifting it’s very important you give your back sufficient time to rest and recover.
  1. Too much TV and tablet time – Ok so not a direct cause of back pain because it can be avoidable with the correct posture. However there is a quite a significantly high number of people who slouch on the couch watching TV or slouch over their phone’s and tablets. This can cause back pain.
  1. Inactivity – Our bodies are designed to move and not sit still. Modern day life means that a lot of us spend our days sat down on the train or in a car, sat down at work and sat down in our leisure times. This is not good for your whole body and certainly not good for your back.
